SPECTRA Aberdeen’s Festival of lights

11 February 2016 @ 8 h 00 min - 14 February 2016 @ 17 h 00 min

Celebrating the 2016 Scottish Year of Innovation, Architecture & Design through this year’s theme “Spark of Inspiration” Aberdeen City Council in conjunction with Curated Place will deliver a 4 day light festival from the 11th Feb through to the 14th, bringing together leading international artists with Scottish collaborators.

Inviting audiences to engage with playful, accessible and high quality performances, spaces and works of art that marry light, sound and interactive experiences, SPECTRA 2016 will be an exciting event bringing light to the depths of winter and celebrate Aberdeen’s creative past, present and future.

Andy Brydon, Director of Curated Place is producing the 2016 festival  comments “Curated Place are thrilled to be working with Aberdeen City Council again to deliver the third SPECTRA Festival this time taking the ambition of the event to new levels. Following the great success of the 2015 festival we are working closely with local, national and international artists to expand over four sites in the city centre to explore how collaboration, installation and creative practice can redefine the experience of the city in the dark winter months. Together with the culture team at the City Council we are developing new opportunities for local artists to develop the skills and capacity to make lasting international connections while bringing stunning light and sound works to the city streets for all to enjoy.”
